RE/MAX vs. The Real Estate Industry

Header

13.1. That’s the number of U.S. Average Transaction Sides per Agent that RE/MAX enjoyed in 2010, according to data each real estate organization provided to REAL Trends, Inc., a leading industry analyst. Thirteen should be an easy number to remember. That’s also the number of years that RE/MAX has come out ahead of its competition and has been able to say, “Nobody sells more real estate than RE/MAX.”

Casting Call: ‘My First Place’ on HGTV looks for first-time homebuyers

“My First Place,” a show entering production on its eleventh season for Home and Garden Television (HGTV), is seeking Dallas/Fort Worth area first-time homebuyers for an upcoming episode. Naturally, they sent an inquiry to RE/MAX of Texas Marketing and Communication Director Mike Sumerlin, asking if he’d help spread the word to RE/MAX agents in Dallas/Fort Worth about this great publicity opportunity. We did just that, and we’re repeating the message here: Agents who help find homebuyers for the show are rewarded with appearance fees and HGTV.com website links.

It all starts with sharing the “My First Place” application with Dallas Fort/Worth potential first-time homebuyers.

The National Association of Home Builders recently released a new economic index that highlights housing metropolitan areas that are seeing improvements in their housing markets.

Waco and Midland are two cities in Texas that are making big improvements, so we reached out to RE/MAX 1st Choice Broker/Owner RC (Skeet) Doss to ask, “What’s going on in Midland.” Below is his response, verbatim:

Blessed Midland! We have finally had 3.5 inches of rain at my house this week and we have a market that is so hot the rain can't even put it out.

Worldwide demand for oil and astounding new field discoveries have done nothing but bring hordes of new workers to our area to man the drilling rigs, the service companies and to handle all of the legal aspects of drilling. We can barely keep enough houses on the market at any time to have any more than 5 or 6 choices for many buyers wanting to purchase. Our apartments, hotels and rentals are all at near capacity and it is making it extremely difficult now for people to find affordable housing as demand bought on by a tight market has done nothing but drive prices up. We face a market some of the time with less listings than licensed real estate agents.

The drought has brought much disaster as far our agricultural aspects of our economy are concerned, however, we unlike a lot of other places, have had the oil industry to fall back on and it has helped us through this horrible heat.

Midland boasts great schools both private and public, a wonder volunteer community theatre to rival any in the United State as well as a wonderful Chorus/Orchestra and many, many other amenities. There are also many religious faiths practiced in Midland and beautiful churches have been built all over the city. We have a new hospital facility being built that will be the envy of many and our medical practitioners are second to none.

Having an international airport of our very own makes us accessible to anywhere in the world and we can leave from our own back yard. A mind blowing new performing arts center and a new sports stadium that will take your breath away are two more wonderful attributes to Midland. We have our own baseball team, the Rockhounds, and our high school athletics are State winning champions along with our many soccer teams.

Shopping, restaurants, parks, public services and the list goes on and on as to what we have to offer. Golf courses, hunting and a short jaunt to the slopes of Ruidoso, New Mexico are also wonderful advantages.

I love Midland. People that live here love Midland.

We have the friendliest people in the world and we are one of the best kept secrets anywhere!

The Bank of America® Alternative Right Party Contact1 Program

We're giving real estate agents a unique way to reach out to delinquent homeowners and educate them on
foreclosure alternatives such as short sales. This approach allows you to help struggling borrowers avoid
foreclosure, and puts you in a position to potentially represent homeowners who might not have realized
they may be able to sell.

Program Overview & Results to Date:
To date, RE/MAX agents in this program have achieved
right party contact approximately 60% of the time.
And of that 60%, more than one in three customers
contracted to participate in the program.
Program Objective.

Through this program, Bank of America strives to:
• Help reduce overall foreclosure rates by offering short sale or deed in lieu options
• Stabilize communities by helping customers avoid
foreclosure and transition to alternative housing
• Reach customers that have not discussed their hardship with us and inform them about the
non-foreclosure options available for their situation Customer Benefits

By participating in this program, borrowers benefit from:
• A way to leave their homes while avoiding some of the negative aspects of foreclosure
• Customer Relocation Assistance of $2,5002 to help with moving and rental expenses
• Possible forgiveness of any loan balance3 not covered by the proceeds of the sale

Cooperative Short Sale4
In a Cooperative Short Sale, the borrower lists the property for sale at fair market value. If the property is sold, the proceeds from the sale are used to pay offthe mortgage debt, even if the proceeds are less than the amount owed on the mortgage. After a successful Cooperative Short Sale, the bank may be able to forgive any remaining loan balance.

Click Here to download & review the Step-by-Step Program Overview.

1Right Party Contact. Successful effort by a loan servicer to speak with the borrower of a mortgage about resolution of a delinquency.
2Relocation Assistance payout amounts are presently under review and likely to change
3The Bank of America Cooperative Streamline calls for no customer financial documentation, no contribution and no deficiency. The more conservative language
reference above was due to the fact that there is no way to ensure 100% of customers solicited for the project will truly qualify for Streamline due to previously
unknown 2nd, MI, etc.
4Alternative RPC program presently only supports the Bank of America Cooperative Streamline program. It is likely that the delivery model will support both HAFA
and Bank of America Cooperative Streamline in the future.

With cooler weather on its way, Fall is a busy time for the RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon.  When the seven-stories-tall balloon is not in attendance at an elementary science program, office grand opening or charity function, it can be found making an appearance across the state in major balloon festivals and community celebrations. The balloon is scheduled to appear at a dozen Texas balloon festivals, including the enormously popular Plano Balloon Festival.
